IBM Maximo is a web-based Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) solution, leader in the world.
IBM Maximo is an Enterprise asset management solution (equipment, installations, buildings, etc) and services including; purchasing, inventory, management of locations, service desk, and work planning. IBM Maximo was built based on world wide best practice and continues to evolve based on client experience and feedback.
Base Product
The IBM Maximo Suite includes:
- Maximo Asset Manager (MAM) to manage enterprise wide assets
and/or
- IBM Control Desk (ICD) to manage Information Technology (IT) assets both physical and logical
Various methods are supported such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), ABC inventory cycle counting, or ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) for the IT solution.
Additional Products
Add-on products are available to extend the solution to fit your specific needs. Either within a given industry, such as transportation, aviation, utilities, oil and gas and life sciences. The base product has been adapted to fit industry specific content.
Complementary products are available for specific solutions for your industry. Such as utilities, oil and gas, transportation, aviation and life sciences. Basic IBM Maximo has been modified to be adapted to the specific context of these companies.
Products are also available for added functional capability such as GIS (Geographic Information Sharing) integration or mobility, for disconnected operations. This makes it possible to work with electronic maps, tablets and cell phones. Disconnected operations allow work in places without electronic communications such as mines.
Configuration
IBM Maximo includes a variety of configuration tools for the user interface, to change the application page layouts, labels and even add customer defined content. Furthermore, more than 25 language are available. Once installed languages can then be modified for regional variances.
IBM Maximo comes with process automation and workflow. Advanced role and access definition require administrative level access. It includes tools to automate notifications within the system, as well as to send email notification for Maximo users and non-users of Maximo.
IBM Maximo easily integrates with common ERP systems, such as Oracle, SAP and Microsoft, via plug-and-play adapters. It can publish and use web services for targeted system integration. As well, IBM Maximo can support custom integration for existing or home-grown systems. IBM Maximo is a modern web-based CMMS solution that is scalable and adaptable.
Reports
IBM Maximo includes well over a hundred BIRT reports (Business Intelligence and Reporting). Any given report can be generated in all the installed languages, such as English and French.
Specific reports have been developed for almost all IBM Maximo applications. So, from the beginning, you have reports for your work order, your inventories and your suppliers. IBM Maximo includes tools for modifying BIRT reports and creating new ones.

Mobility
This asset management solution supports mobile maintenance both in connected or disconnected modes at a work site.
IBM Maximo Everyplace is included in the base product and enables connected mobile operation through a simplified interface, via Wi-Fi or Cellular Phone for example.
IBM Maximo Anywhere can be added to allow mobile operation in remote locations through disconnected mobile operation, then later synchronizing when connection is possible.
Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Now, IBM Maximo is able to receive and manage BIM projects. It can import OmniClass and Uniformat classifications. You simply add the external BIM viewer to see 3D models from BIM projects, directly in IBM Maximo.
